Ironmongery

There are as many kinds of fittings, ie latches and catches  -to enhance your window and to make it as secure as possible. They come in chrome, brass, iron, as well as many other materials. Our surveyors with a wealth of experience can advise you the ironmongery which they think is best for your window..

Timber

Your windows can be made in either hardwood, such as Oak, or a softwood such as Yellow Pine. Generally hardwoods are much more expensive than softwoods. Our surveyors will discuss with you which timber is appropriate for your window. NB We try and ensure that all our timber comes from sustainable sources.

Decorating

Windows can be supplied undecorated, primed, sealed, stained or finished to your preferred colour and specification. Vacuum pressure treatment is also available.

And finally glazing.

This is a planning minefield. Essentially where we are making windows for  new and newer properties your windows have to be fitted with Low "E" glass. This is for energy conservation and will help to reduce your heating bills. Your windows could be single or double glazed. For older properties glass have to be replaced like for like., ie no low "e". And if your window did not have double glazing  we cannot  repace your window galss with a double glazed unit. But our surveyors are fully up to date with the latest building regulations and will advise you accordingly.
